Tolerances
The powder metal process is a cost effective approach to achieving even some of the most demanding OEM tolerances. Sterling Sintered concurrently designs its process while your design engineers design the part to best match capabilities with requirements. Compacting Presses
Sterling Sintered has 24+ powder metal primary compaction presses ranging from 4 ton to 110 tons. Many of our presses have multiple upper and lower motions and are capable of making parts with complex multi-level shapes.
Powder Metal Sintering Capabilities
Sterling Sintered has a wide range of abilities for sintering powder metal. We typically operate up to the 2100 F range and can synthetically generate atmospheres anywhere from 100% Nitrogen to 100% Hydrogen. Temperatures up to 2350 F and vacuum sintering can also be attained by SST. Various other sintering processes such as copper infiltration & sinter hardening are also a daily routine at Sterling Sintered.
Coining Operations
Sterling Sintered has 12+ coining presses ranging from 1 ton to 50 tons. Our semi-automated coining operations achieve increased part density and reduce dimensional variation. Specific densities can be achieved to maximize impregnation effectiveness.
Production Runs
Sterling Sintered is competitively priced on prototype, small, medium, and large production runs. We routinely process orders anywhere from 500 parts per year to a half million parts per week.
